Privacy Policy: What PackagingRegulation.org Collects, Why and Your Choices

How PackagingRegulation.org handles data from its provider-match, alert and contact forms: what is kept, why, for 24 months, and how to ask for deletion.

Last updated 24 October 2026 · By the PackagingRegulation.org Editorial Team · How we fact-check · Print this page

This privacy policy explains which personal data PackagingRegulation.org, the independent English reference on the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, collects through its three forms, why it collects it, how long it keeps it and which choices readers have. PackagingRegulation.org runs no analytics service and no advertising vendor, and every question about personal data goes to editorial@packagingregulation.org.

The three forms are the provider-match request, the PPWR deadline alerts sign-up and the contact form. Reading the site needs no account and no form, and the guide explains the PPWR, Regulation (EU) 2025/40, which is the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, article by article.

Compiled by the PackagingRegulation.org Editorial Team from the Regulation's text on EUR-Lex and the cited official sources; see our methodology and fact-checking. Last updated 24 October 2026.

What Personal Data Does PackagingRegulation.org Collect?

PackagingRegulation.org collects personal data only when a reader fills in one of three forms: the provider-match request, the PPWR deadline alerts sign-up and the contact form. The forms and the data each one collects are listed below.

Form Where it appears Data collected Purpose Kept for
Provider-match request End of guide pages Company name; country of establishment; member states where packaging is first made available; role; need; email; consent tick box; page of the request; date Passing the request to independent providers who work in those member states 24 months
PPWR deadline alerts End of guide pages Email; page of sign-up; date Sending dated alerts when a PPWR act, date or national rule changes Until the reader unsubscribes
Contact form Contact page Email; name (optional); topic; page the message refers to; message; date Answering questions and corrections 24 months

No form stores an IP address, and every other page is read without giving any data.

Why Does PackagingRegulation.org Collect It, and Who Receives It?

PackagingRegulation.org uses form data for one purpose per form: to pass a provider-match request on, to send PPWR deadline alerts and to answer messages. A request is used for matching, an alerts address for alerts and a message for its reply.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, and form entries are stored in the site's Cloudflare database.

Where a request names a need and member states, it is passed to independent providers who work in those member states. No provider is named, ranked or paid for a ranking on the site, and no partner is chosen as of 24 October 2026.

Does PackagingRegulation.org Use Cookies, Analytics or Advertising?

No: PackagingRegulation.org uses no analytics service, no advertising vendor and no tracking or advertising cookies, and no page carries advertising.

How Long Does PackagingRegulation.org Keep Personal Data?

PackagingRegulation.org keeps provider-match requests and contact messages for 24 months and alert sign-ups until the reader unsubscribes. The table above gives the period for each form. A reader can ask for deletion before the end of the period by email.

What Choices Do Readers Have over Their Data?

Readers can ask PackagingRegulation.org for a copy of their data, its correction or its deletion, and can unsubscribe from PPWR deadline alerts at any time, under the General Data Protection Regulation, Regulation (EU) 2016/679, which applies since 25 May 2018.

  • Ask for a copy of the data held about you.
  • Correct data that is wrong.
  • Delete data before the end of its retention period.
  • Unsubscribe from PPWR deadline alerts at any time.

Each request goes by email to editorial@packagingregulation.org.

How Does This Privacy Policy Connect to the Rest of PackagingRegulation.org?

Three questions link this privacy policy to the rest of PackagingRegulation.org: how to reach the editorial team, how changes are dated and whether a form has anything to do with PPWR compliance. The site names no provider and sells no ranking, as set out in about PackagingRegulation.org, which also explains who publishes it and how it is funded.

How to contact the editorial team about personal data

Questions and requests about personal data go to editorial@packagingregulation.org, the same address used for corrections and PPWR questions. The form and the address are on the page to contact PackagingRegulation.org.

How changes to this privacy policy are dated

Every change to this privacy policy is dated on the page, in the same way as corrections under the editorial policy. Corrections and independence rules are set out in the editorial policy.

Is a provider-match request part of PPWR compliance?

No: a provider-match request is optional, and PPWR conformity assessment is internal production control under Annex VII Module A (Art. 38 PPWR), with no notified body, no CE marking and no PPWR certificate. Sending a request neither starts nor completes any step under the Regulation.
