Contact the PackagingRegulation.org editorial team on the PPWR: report an error with its primary source, send a news tip or ask how your data is handled.

Last updated 24 October 2026 · By the PackagingRegulation.org Editorial Team · How we fact-check · Print this page

PackagingRegulation.org is an independent English reference on the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, and its editorial team reads every message sent through the form below or to editorial@packagingregulation.org. The site publishes under its own brand, with the byline "PackagingRegulation.org Editorial Team".

Messages about errors, news and page content are the most useful, because the site explains the PPWR, the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, article by article. Regulation (EU) 2025/40 applies since 12 August 2026 (Art. 71 PPWR), and every page is written from its text.

Every date and article reference on this site is checked against its primary source; see our methodology and fact-checking.

How Do I Contact the PackagingRegulation.org Editorial Team?

Use the contact form on this page or write to editorial@packagingregulation.org; both reach the PackagingRegulation.org Editorial Team. The form offers five topics: a correction or factual error, a news tip, a question about a page, a press enquiry or another matter. Tips about amending proposals, Commission acts or national rules feed PPWR news, and the confirmation text on the form reads "Message received."

How to Report an Error and Request a Correction

To report an error, name the page and the exact statement, and give the primary source that shows the correct value, such as the article of Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on EUR-Lex. The page address, the sentence as printed and the source reference let the editorial team check the report against the same text.

A confirmed error is corrected on the page and the change is dated, as set out in the editorial policy on corrections. A report that cites no primary source is checked against the sources listed below.

Which primary sources should a correction cite?

A correction is checked fastest against the same primary sources the site cites: the Official Journal and EUR-Lex for EU law, and the national gazette or competent authority for national rules. Four groups of sources apply.

  • EUR-Lex and the Official Journal for the act, and the European Parliament's Legislative Observatory (OEIL) for legislative procedures
  • Commission Notice C/2026/3084 (OJ C, 10.6.2026) and the Commission's PPWR FAQ, both non-binding; the Regulation wins where they differ
  • National gazettes, such as gesetze-im-internet.de for Germany and Légifrance for France
  • Registers and authorities, such as the Stiftung Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister in Germany and ADEME in France

The order in which these sources are checked explains how every date and article reference is sourced.

Can the Editorial Team Answer Questions about My PPWR Compliance?

No: the editorial team answers questions about what a page says, but does not give legal advice or say whether a specific product or packaging is compliant. A case-by-case question goes to the competent authority of the Member State concerned. The general duties of each economic operator are set out under PPWR compliance.

Readers who want help can use the provider-match form on topic pages, which passes the request to independent providers of PPWR compliance services. That request never goes through this contact form.

What Data Does the Contact Form Collect?

The contact form collects your email address, your message, the topic and, if you add them, your name and the page concerned, and the messages are kept for 24 months. Newsletter addresses are kept until the reader unsubscribes.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, uses no analytics or advertising vendors and sets no tracking cookies. Requests to access or delete your data under the GDPR, Regulation (EU) 2016/679, go to editorial@packagingregulation.org. Your rights and every form's data are listed in the privacy policy: what PackagingRegulation.org collects and why.
